Java Configuration for Crystal Reports

To configure Crystal Reports for Dekho, follow these steps :

Step 01> Open CRConfig.xml in an editor

C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\java\CRConfig.xml for Crystal Reports XI

OR

C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java\CRConfig.xml for Crystal Reports 2008)

Step 02> Edit the <JavaDir> to the Java 6 bin installation directory path. for example;

<JavaDir>C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_03\bin</JavaDir>

Step 03> Edit the Classpath to include the correct versions of Oracle or SQL Server drivers

Step 04> Oracle requires ojdbc6.jar and orai18n.jar.

Step 05> SQL Server requires sqljdbc4.jar.

Step 06> Open the report in Crystal Reports

Step 07> Click Database -> Set Data source Location

Step 08> Navigate to your XML data source used to retrieve Dekho selections. For example http://localhost:8080/Crystal/QueryServlet

Step 09> Expand the properties of the data source.

Step 10> Double-Click the layers parameter. The parameter value will become editable.

Step 11> Change the layer name to the fully qualified layer name.

Step 12> copy the drivers to:

C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\java\lib\external OR

C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java\lib\external

<Classpath> not all shown ; C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java\lib\external\ojdbc6.jar; C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java\lib\external\orai18n.jar; C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java\lib\external\sqljdbc4.jar;${CLASSPATH}</Classpath>
