JDBC Based Query Rules

§ If your query is searching the same ArcSDE table as the map layer that will be joined to, you must also select the objectid field.  If you’re not yet sure which fields you wish to join on, use SELECT *.

§ If your query is searching a different table as the map layer that will be joined to, you must select the fields that will be used to join on. If you’re not yet sure which fields you wish to join on, use SELECT *.

§ If your query is searching multiple tables, one being the same ArcSDE table as the map layer that will be joined to, you must select the objectid field.  If you’re not yet sure which fields you wish to join on, use SELECT *. If the tables contain matching field names then they cannot be ambiguously defined and must be aliased with the table identifier.

§ If your query is searching multiple tables, different to the map layer that will be joined to, you must select the fields that will be used to join on. If you’re not yet sure which fields you wish to join on, use SELECT *. If the tables contain matching field names then they cannot be ambiguously defined and must be aliased with the table identifier.
