SQL Server Report Template - Insert FIQ

Step 01> Open a new report template and Click New > Data Source... This opens the Data Source Properties form.

Step 02> In the General Tab, Enter a name for the  Data sources.

Step 03> Select the Use a connection embedded in my report option.

Step 04> Select XML as the Connection Type.

Step 05> Enter the connection string as:


localhost should be replaced with the machine name where Dekho is running. Port may also be different. The queryname is a url encoded string if it contains spaces

Step 06> Click on the Credentials Tab and choose Use current Windows user. Kerberos delegation may be required.

Step 07> Click OK to close the Data Source Properties window.

Step 08> Right-Click on the new  Data sources and Select Add Dataset. This will open the Dataset Properties window.

Step 09> On the Query Tab, Enter a name for the dataset. Select the Data sources created in the above step.

Step 10> Set Query Type as ‘Text’.

Step 11> Type the syntax into the window:


Step 12> Click the Refresh Fields button.

Step 13> Click on the Parameters Tab and Click Add and Enter a Parameter Name called sessionid

Step 14> Click on the Fields Tab where the fields will be automatically populated from the FIQ

Step 15> Ignore the inclusion of the DEKHOobjectid and featureid fields. These fields are used for internal processing. Other fields to ignore include xs and Details.

Step 16> Click the Options Tab and leave all default settings.

Step 17> Click on the Filters Tab. and Leave all default settings:


Step 18> Click OK to close the Data Source Properties window.

Now to add the data to the report

Step 19> Choose to insert a table from the Insert Tab on the toolbar.

Step 20> Drag and Drop the field names from the left panel into the columns of the new table.

Step 21> Rename the column headers

Step 22> Save the report and upload to the SQL Server Report Server.

Example SQL Server Report

Step 01> In the Map Client, Select map features from the layer that the FIQ refers.

Step 02> Verify the selected feature attributes are displayed in the Result Panel will be shown displaying the result of selection.

Step 03> Click the Generate Report button and select the relevant report in the reports window. Click the Generate button. A report is generated which will display the feature info query results for each selected feature. See the screenshot below
