SQL Server Report Template - Insert Table

Step 01> Open a new report template and Click New > Data Source... This opens the Data Source Properties form.

Step 02> In the General Tab, Enter a name for the  Data sources.

Step 03> Select the Use a connection embedded in my report option.

Step 04> Select XML as the Connection Type.

Step 05> Enter the connection string as:





PLEASE NOTE: localhost should be replaced with the machine name where Dekho is running. Port can also be different.




Step 06> Click on the Credentials Tab and choose Use current Windows user. Kerberos delegation may be required.

Step 07> Click OK to close the Data Source Properties window.

Step 08> Right-Click on the new  Data sources and Select Add Dataset. This will open the Dataset Properties window.

Step 09> On the Query Tab, Enter a name for the dataset. Select the Data sources created in the above step.

Step 10> Set Query Type as ‘Text’.

Step 11> Type the syntax into the window:


Step 12> Click on the Parameters Tab and Click Add and Enter a Parameter Name called sessionid

Step 13> Click on the Fields Tab.

Step 14> Click Add and Enter Field Name layer

Step 15> Click Add and Enter Field Name id

Step 16> Click on the Options Tab and Leave all default settings.

Step 17> Click on the Filters Tab. and Leave all default settings:

Step 18> Click OK to close the Data Source Properties window.

Step 19> Now to add the data to the report, choose to insert a table from the ‘Insert’ tab on the toolbar.

Step 20> Resize the table as per your requirement.

Step 21> Drag and Drop the field names from the left panel into the columns of the new table.

Step 22> Rename the column headers

Step 23> Save the report and upload to the SQL Server Report Server.

Test the Report

Step 01> Load Dekho web application and navigate to the map to which this report was added. Select some features on the map. This will highlight the selected features and a result panel will be shown displaying the result of selection.

Step 02> Click the Generate Report button and select the relevant report in the reports window. Click the Generate button. A report is generated which will display the selected Layers and Objectids. See the screenshot below:
