Type-ahead queries are used to populate type-ahead text fields on Search Flow Queries. Type-ahead queries must have a parameter that is populated by the text entered by the end user. Typcially Type-aheads are used for large lists of data as they restrict the amount of information returned and as a result, perform much better. An example of a Type-ahead Query might be a list of streets which is impractical for a ComboBox. The user need only enter a few characters of the street name, when Dekho activates the Type-ahead Query, passing in the characters they have typed, and returning a list of streets that begin with those characters.
Type-ahead queries can use either a Data connection or a Map Service as the data source. Data connections are recommended for Type-ahead queries.
