Type-ahead Query – Data Connection

Start configuring a Type-ahead Query, by firstly following these instructions on how to create a query.

Step 01> Then Choose  Data Connection

Step 02> Choose a Database connection and the Table that the type-ahead will search in.

Step 03> Assign a field name for the Display and Value Field. This field will be used to search and display the results.

Add a Wildcard to speed the search and allow users to type in a series of characters to return a set of values that match that array of characters.

In the example, the values of the ‘NAME’ field will be looked up and also displayed in the search results.

Step 04> [Optional] Add a Where clause to limit the search criteria. See here to find out more about the Where clause syntax.
